1. Nasonville Departure

Opening Narration

Every journey on the Nasonville Valley Railroad begins at the station. “Nasonville Departure” opens the album by inviting the listener aboard and setting the scene for the musical journey that follows. The conductor’s announcement takes us back to the days when the sound of a steam whistle meant that another adventure was about to begin.

Nasonville Valley Railroad Departure Announcement

Welcome, travelers, to the Nasonville Valley Railroad.

Today, you’ll step back to a time when the whistle of a steam locomotive echoed through the countryside…

…and every journey promised a new adventure.

In just a few moments, our train will depart Nasonville Station and carry you through forests, across towering trestles, through mountain tunnels, and over the winding rails of the valley.

As you travel behind one of our authentic steam locomotives, imagine the days when railroads connected towns, carried families on vacation, and opened the door to exploration and discovery.

Please remain seated during our journey and keep your hands, arms, feet, and legs safely inside the train.

Parents are asked to keep a watchful eye on young passengers.

The conductor has called…

The engineer is at the throttle…

And our adventure is about to begin.

Thank you for riding the Nasonville Valley Railroad.

All aboard! All aboard!
